SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The Williams Sound WIR TX8 Infrared Emitter is designed to operate with a WIR TX10
Infrared System or modulator that sends a 95 kHz or 250 kHz frequency modulated signal to
the TX8 Emitter via coaxial cable.
The WIR TX8 emits invisible infrared light into the listening area. Infrared receivers detect
the transmission and convert the light signals back into audio signals.
The system is designed to transmit high quality audio for hearing assistance and language
interpretation applications. Because the system uses infrared light for transmission, it is not
affected by radio equipment and does not interfere with radio equipment. No FCC license is
required. The coverage area for the TX8 will v
ary depending on the receiver being used. (see
Figures 2 and 4 to demonstrate the receiver coverage area when operating a single TX8
emitter in single channel mode). Generally, a RX4 receiver will operate up to 4,000 ft
2
(370
m
2
). Larger areas can be covered by connecting additional WIR TX8 Emitters.
